Subject: the DPE saga continues
For those of you hoping to get a Practical Test this year, here is the update. After several attempts, I was not selected to be a glider DPE by the Allegheny FSDO. Another DPE is in the process of going to school to become glider qualified and then become a glider DPE. I was told last year that the FSDO would provide DPE support and that did not happen. I was told 2 months ago that a DPE would be available in 30 days. That did not happen. After speaking to the glider DPE candidate last night, the new estimate is "another month". My confidence level is low on whether this is going to happen. If you have another option on taking the Practical Test at some other facility, please do it. This battle with the FSDO has been going on for 4 years now and it is more promises than performance. Steve.
