Subject: Update

Saturday was great with clear skies, spotty lift and light winds. Ed Weisgerber got one more shot at spin entry and recovery in the 2-33 and then he took the 1-26 for two flights. All went very well.

Sunday was a bust as I sit here typing a light rain is falling. This is only the second weather cancellation this year.

We all get in the habit of planning our traffic patterns based on ground references. "Danger Will Robinson! Danger!" TLAR (that looks about right) is the correct technique as we make wind adjustments.

Also, I've observed some fairly low thermaling downwind of the airport (see Will Robinson reference above). Where there's lift, there too is sink. Every instructor at SWS has landed out very close to the airport after hitting a shaft of sinking air close in. Only one student has landed out. Steve.
